About 6 months ago a co-worker/friend was hospitalized with pnemonia [pneumonia] and the doctors found an irregular heart beat. She followed up with her doctor who then sent her to several other ’specialists’. Being a very private woman, she never disclosed exactly what the specialists were looking/testing her for. I am not a doctor, but with the irregular heartbeat following the bout with pneumonia, (or any severe flu for that matter) unfortunately is not uncommon, people just don't hear about it. My docs recently found out I have Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (or POTS for short) and my heart was 'normal' before I had a VERY severe case of bronchitis that just didn't seem to want to go away. I am very sorry for your loss.
