severe hot flashesbeen having hot flashes for years, been on ALL kinds of meds. currently on vivelle patch, helps somewhat been on for 3 years. have tried natural non-prescriptions they do not work for me, i am miserable. i have to have a fan at work, even in the winter time, i freeze out everyone around me and if anyone goes near the thermostat to turn it up... well lets just say they leave it alone. if anyone has any suggestions..i've thought about chinese medicine, accupuncture,i'm 57 years old and had a hysterectomy at age 32, thank you

Re: severe hot flashesHello, hot flashes are very treatable with Chinese medicine and acupuncture. I can see you have a very severe case. Most health conditions are caused by imbalances, and Chinese medicine works to correct this imbalance. Research has also shown acupuncture to greatly help with hot flashes and insomnia, and I personally have a lot of success with treating this condition.
In Chinese medicine, the metaphor of yin and yang is mostly used to describe the imbalance that causes hot flashes. Yin and yang are opposites which generate one another and balance one another. Yin represents coolness and moistness, yang is dryness and heat. When there is too little yin, there is nothing to balance the heat of the yang. So the acupuncture and chinese medicine works to add yin to the body, to calm the hotflashes.
